Two-day workshop on Entrepreneur Skills for Women Empowerment

Aligarh : The University Women’s Polytechnic, AMU organized a two-day workshop on Entrepreneur Skills for Women Empowerment in association with the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Aligarh local centre recently. There were total 150 registrations from students, research scholars and faculty members

In the inaugural session the chief guest Prof. Mohammad Altamush Siddiqui, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology addressed the participants and the proceedings were released by him. The guest of honor Er. JK Varshney, Honorary Secretary Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Aligarh local centre also deliberated on occasion

Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal University Women’s Polytechnic delivered welcome address and Ms. Savita Gautam, Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering section presented the overview of the workshop. Ms. Juhi Faridi, Faculty member in Electronics Engineering section conducted the inaugural session while Ms Sheeba Kamal Assistant Professor in Applied Science and Humanities section, presented the vote of thanks.

Total four technical sessions were conducted in two days. In the first technical session the resource person Dr Jahangir Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce spoke on Women entrepreneurship.

In the second technical session Prof Nazia Hasan from Women’s College expressed her views on Gender sensitization. In the third technical session on Educational Empowerment and Gender equality, was taken up by Prof Nasrin from the Department of Education.

The resource person for the fourth technical session Prof Ayesha Farooq from the Department of Business Administration expressed her views on the topic Motivational aspects and Personality development.

The workshop witnessed encouraging responses where participants had an extensive interaction session with all the speakers.

The felicitation ceremony was conducted by Ms Iqra Saleem, while certificates were distributed jointly by Prof Ayesha Farooq, Principal of University women’s polytechnic Dr Salma Shaheen and organizing secretaries Dr Sheeba Kamal and Ms Savita Gautam.
