Two Week Online Refresher Course for Faculty on Next Generation Technologies

New Delhi : The Ministry of Education, Government of India is organising a two week
refresher course for faculty members and research scholars of higher education on the theme of
Next Generation Technologies. The programme is organised under the Pandit Madan Mohan
Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT).
This first of its kind online course is being organised in collaboration with the Ramanujan
College, Open Technology foundation (OTF), and Association for Promotion of Free & Open
Source Technologies (Afrost).
“We are witnessing a transformational shift in almost every walk of life. Digital Technologies
have fuelled the next wave of innovation in the country. Applications of Emerging technologies
such as AI, ML, Robotics, AR/VR and Data Science will play an important role in building
upcoming Technology Systems. Academic institutions can collaborate to impart new age skills
to students and make them future ready”, says Dr. Neeta Verma, DG NIC
The course aims to empower the participants with up to date knowledge, expertise and skills on
emerging & next generation technologies including Education Transformation through
Technology (ET3) and New Tools Cloud Computing & Edge Computing, 5G, Cryptography
Blockchain, Open Source Era, Data Privacy and Security, Machine Learning and Artificial
Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT).
Over a course of 2 weeks, several experts from the industry, government, public sector,
academia will interact with the participants to share their thoughts and perspectives. Some
prominent speakers include Priyanka Sharma, General Manager – Cloud Native Computing
Foundation, Jonathan Bryce, Executive Director – Open Infrastructure Foundation, Arpit
Joshipura, General Manager – Networking, IOT & Edge Linux Foundation, and Brian Behlendorf,
