Two young researchers get NESA awards

 

ALIGARH  : Two research students of Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University, Ms Sahrish Aftab and Dr Ritu Chaudhry, have been honoured with the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA) Junior Scientist and Young Scientist of the Year ’2023 awards, respectively, for their research work on rice plant proteomics and metabolomics at the GPCC-2023 conference held at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR-NBRI), Lucknow.
Their research work, done under the mentorship of Prof Altaf Ahmad, holds immense potential for transforming rice cultivation into a more sustainable and efficient practice.

The NESA awards are given annually through a rigorous selection process, to acknowledge the academic excellence and commitment of young researchers in advancing the realms of Botany.

Prof. M. Badruzzaman Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Botany, along with other teachers and students congratulated them on the achievement.
