UC confirms its first Strategic Plan
The milestone of the firm that approves the first Strategic Plan for College UC since its inception implies new challenges that trace the trajectory and unify efforts for the design of the training plan of the Academic Unit with three main axes: Academic Challenges, Community and Society and University Government.
Recently at UC Headquarters, UC College Director Romy Hecht signed approval of the unit’s first Strategic Plan.
This fact is the result of an effort of more than three years, in which an internal survey of information was carried out and hard work was done together with the Office of the Provost and the Economic Vice Presidency to shape the foundations that will guide the future of the Academic Unit for the next lustrum. The focus of this plan is divided into three main axes: Academic Challenges, Community and Society, and University Government.
The first involves reviewing the academic offer of bachelor’s degrees and the consolidation of a College UC academic staff. The second is the positioning of its curricular training at the local, national and international level. And the third refers to the growth of the administrative staff, strengthening strategic areas of the unit and seeking the integral development of its members for the proper development of the work.
The instance brought together the pro-chancellor Guillermo Marshall, the economic vice-chancellor Loreto Massanés, the director of the College, Romy Hecht and the economic and management director, Andrea Ponce. Also present were Bárbara Prieto, Director of Institutional Analysis and Planning, Victor Villarroel, Deputy Director of Planning, and Diego Durán, Academic Coordinator of the internal quality assurance system, who were part of the team that worked on the process.
a new stage
Before making the strategic plan official, there were words about the importance and meaning of the process: “I think this plan marks a before and after for College, as is the creation of an academic body that will certainly change the future to this academic unit” , mentioned the UC dean, Guillermo Marshall. In addition, he highlighted the collaborative work of these years and the responsibility to follow up on the execution of the strategic plan. “Thank you very much for the effort, the patience, but it was all worth it,” he closed.
