Udhampur: Banks asked to follow COVID-19 safeguard measures
Udhampur: District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today asked the banks to strictly follow COVID-19 safeguard measures for the safety of staff and the people.
She was chairing a meeting of bankers to discuss COVID -19 safeguards to be followed by banks.
Detailed discussions were held on all the aspects of covid 19 safeguards in banking sector.
It was decided that the COVID-19 Testing centers shall be activated in Bank branches with huge footfall.
The meeting further decided to defer the printing of passbooks and renewal of fixed deposits by one month to minimize the visitors rush.
The bank officials were asked to encourage the customers to use digital platforms for banking transactions to decrease the footfall of people in the banks.
It was further decided that the Banking Business hours will be restricted to 10(am)-2(pm) till further instructions, while Aadhar enrollment and up-dation will be done only in exceptional cases.
Among others the meeting was attended by LDM, Ramesh Raina and functionaries of the banks.
