Udhampur DDC reviews preparedness for Kissan Pakhwada
Udhampur: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, today chaired a meeting of the officers of different departments to review the preparation for the celebration of Kisan Pakhwada being celebrated from July 7, 2020.
The DDC reviewed the major achievements under Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture sectors.
The Flagship schemes, KCC and PM-Kissan were discussed in detail. The Chief Agriculture Officer apprised that the Panchayat wise awareness camps are being held for 100% coverage of the beneficiaries.
The CAO informed that over 95% farmers has availed the benefit under PM-Kissan so far and efforts are on to cover all the beneficiaries.
The DDC stressed on saturation of KCCs and doubling of credit flow for the scheme. Bankers were asked to sensitize the people about the various welfare schemes launched by the government of India and ensure that disbursement is done by the branches without any delay. He impressed upon the departments to ensure that no eligible farmer is deprived of the benefits of the scheme. He stressed on spreading awareness and enrollment of all the eligible persons.
The DDC stressed on disbursement of amount and proper utilization of the same for the upliftment of the rural economy.
Later, the DDC chaired another meeting with officers of Revenue, RDD, IWMP, Agriculture, Horticulture and Fishries departments with regard to implementation of NGT directions for restoration of old ponds in the district.
The DDC directed to frame Tehsil wise committees of different departments for restorations of these ponds on priority. In this connection ACR Udhampur gave Tehsil wise detail of ponds in the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, ACR, Viqar Giri, ACD, Mushtaq Chowdhary, PO IWMP, Sapna Kotwal, DIO NIC, Anil Sharma, DSWO, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, CAO, Satish Bhagat, CHO, Brij Vallabh Gupta,Cluster head Jkbank Rajesh Gupta, LDM and other officers and bankers were present in the meeting.
