Udhampur Police conduct Youth awareness programmes in NITL Higher Secondary School
UDHAMPUR : Udhampur Police have started a special series of awareness programmes to educate the youth about Cyber Crime and menace of drug abuse and addiction.
As part of the series, a youth awareness programme was today organized at NITL Higher Secondary School on the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar.
The event was chaired by PSI Pallvi Rajput, while Devika Sharma (Drug Counsellor Drug De addiction centre Udhampur) besides Principal, lecturers, teacher and other officers from Police/Civil were also present.
The PSI educated the students about the cybercrime, types of cybercrimes such as hacking, credit card fraud, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, cyber threatening, child pornography, financial crimes, etc, categories of cybercrimes such as crime against persons, crime against property and crime against Government and preventions against cybercrime.
Besides, the youth were advised not to share OTPs of their credit cards, ATMs etc to avoid falling prey to duping methods.
Devika Sharma also spoke on the occasion and highlighted her experience in treating drug addicts. She gave a detailed speech on how to recognize that a person is addicted to drugs, treatment and testing process and also presented a detailed presentation about the menace of drugs, sources, causes, consequences, role of parents, civil society, teachers, Police, Health Department, Judiciary and other stakeholders. She said that the issue of drug abuse was a big challenge for the country.
At the event, teachers and students also spoke and highlighted the causes and consequences of drug abuse and assured their possible support and cooperation for a peaceful environment.
