UEL Welcomes New Head of Teacher Education to Advance Academic Leadership

The University of East London has appointed Ciro Genovese as the new Head of Teacher Education. With a rich and varied background in education and a passion for transforming lives through inspirational teaching, Mr Genovese brings a wealth of experience and vision to his new role.

Having personally experienced the impact of an exceptional educator during his school years, Mr Genovese dedicated himself to serving pupils and students, inspiring others with a passion for teaching. His personal journey through education has profoundly shaped his vision for the field.

Mr Genovese says that at the heart of his vision is the development of outstanding teachers who possess the courage to push boundaries and seek what is possible for their pupils, students, and the communities they serve. His goal, he says, is to foster a love of teaching and create a high-quality teaching, learning, and research experience that inspires and transforms.

He said,

I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be appointed as the Head of Teacher Education at UEL. My extensive experience in placement-driven provision has underscored the transformative impact of practical experience in shaping exceptional teachers.
