UGC HRDC, AMU Empowers Educators through Innovative Faculty Induction Programs

 

Aligarh : The initiatives, designed to elevate the proficiency and expertise of newly appointed educators from diverse Indian higher education institutions. A series of online programs aimed to support educators in playing a crucial role in improving higher education. Participants from 14 different states and union territories, such as Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, joined these programs to become leaders in making positive changes in education.

The luminaries and subject matter experts were the part of programs, delivering lectures on significant topics. Notably, sessions delved into India’s G20 presidency within the framework of the university connect program, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and the tribal freedom celebration, Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

The course covered many topics and had various sections, including Higher Education Ecosystem, Teaching and Research with the help of technology, Personal Development, Being Environmentally Conscious, and Understanding Constitutional Duties. During the course, participants actively explored the online library of UGC HRDC AMU, improved their language skills, and thought about Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by writing essays and poems.

Notable figures such as Professor Ved Prakash, former Chairman of UGC, and Dr Shakila T Shamsu, former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) for NEP, were instrumental in imparting wisdom. In-house experts, including Professor SK Singh, Professor CPS Chauhan, and Professor Asfar Ali Khan, shared insights, magnifying participants’ grasp of academic intricacies.

Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director of UGC HRDC, said; “Witnessing the unwavering dedication of participants over these 30 days has been truly heartening. The feedback underscores our holistic approach to nurturing their professional growth.” She also highlighted the platform’s role in fostering knowledge exchange and showcasing the illustrious heritage of AMU as an inclusive hub of academic excellence.
