UGC HRDC AMU gets second rank
Aligarh: The University Grants Commission (UGC)–Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) got the second rank among HRDCs in the country.
UGC HRDC AMU trails Kerala University by only 0.02 points with a score of 4.50 in the quantitative and qualitative parameters.
The Centre was adjudged the second best on the basis of a review of performances of 66 HRDCs during the period from 2015 to 2019 by the standing committee tasked with monitoring the UGC-run institutes.
Extending congratulations, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said: “HRDC AMU has steadily produced academic excellence. The programmes at the Centre continue to enhance the core values of the teaching profession”.
“Through our programmes, we equip the teachers with necessary skills to meet the ever mounting challenges of higher education and to become role models for generations to come”, said Dr Faiza Abbasi (Director, UGC HRDC AMU).
Formerly known as Academic Staff College, the centre imparts training and life-long learning to teachers. It conducts courses for the newly appointed University and College teachers for their orientation towards national values and training in the latest developments.
