UGC-HRDC’s Publication on Academic Leadership
Aligarh: The UGC Human Resource Development Centre of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has brought out a new publication, entitled “Academic Leadership LEAP”, based on the training programmes related to academic leadership and various contours of higher education delivery system.
It is pertinent to mention that the Ministry of Education, Government of India granted two projects, namely Centre for Academic Leadership and Education Management (CALEM); and Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP) to the UGC-HRDC, AMU.
“Under the dynamic stewardship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor, both the projects were successfully accomplished”, said Professor A.R. Kidwai, Director, UGC-HRDC.
He added that a new multipurpose CALEM building has come up and LEAP training programmes were conducted both at the Aligarh Muslim University and at Ohio State University, USA and Monash University, Australia in which very senior professors across the country participated.
Edited by Dr Faiza Abbasi, Assistant Director and Assistant Professor, UGC-HRDC, AMU, the volume is based on the training programmes held under the two projects and experiences gained from it.
Professor Kidwai pointed out that this volume carries several perceptive and insightful articles on various contours of higher education delivery system and academic leadership.
One section of the volume contains 11 articles by eminent AMU faculty members, outlining the strategies for ensuring academic excellence at the AMU.
