ULBs of Kashmir Division passionately celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav’

SRINAGAR : The all 40 Municipal Councils/ Committees of Kashmir Division in consultation with Director Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir and under overall supervision of Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to Govt. H&UD Department has organised impressive and remarkable events during the last three days of the Iconic Week.

The Iconic week, being celebrated as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ from 27th September to 3rd October, 2021 has been earmarked for MoHUA to showcase the achievements made in the relevant fields under various Urban Missions.

In order to bring impetus in the service delivery system of ULBs and to keep them apace with changing situations, a number of activities are being undertaken by the ULBs in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

These activities include Kachra Alag Karo Amrit Divas and under this activity, special emphasis has been given to door to door collection and segregation of waste at sources; Felicitation of best performing RWAs, SDAs, Mohalla Associations and other residential associations and under it Special programmes were conducted across all ULBs, which have witnessed massive participation of RWAs, NGOs, Mohalla Committees and other local association and the best performer have been felicitated with awards and prizes;

Besides, under Sarvajanik Sauchalaya Safai Jan Bhagadari Amrit Utsav, Indigenous Cleanliness drives of CT/PTs have been conducted by all ULBs and capacity building training programmes of caretakers of CT/PTs have also been organized.

The Felicitation of waste entrepreneurs & Waste to Art Exhibition/ Bhartan Bhandars and Safaimitra Samman Amrit Samaroh & Digital displays at public places for sensitizing citizens about the journey of waste is included in the programme.

Meanwhile, during the last three days of the Iconic Week, so far, 103 numbers of activities have been undertaken by 40 ULBs.
