UMass Amherst Announces Greg Hannum as New Fitness Programs Coordinator for RecWell

Associate Director for Programs and Student Development Jason Incorvati has announced that Greg Hannum has joined Recreation and Wellbeing (RecWell) as the new coordinator for fitness programs, overseeing the development and management of comprehensive fitness programs, including cardiovascular, strength and personal training services.

Hannum will evaluate and diversify RecWell’s fitness programs and coordinate the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines, which includes risk assessment for fitness programs and facilities. He will also be responsible for hiring, training and supervising student staff members serving as fitness floor assistants and personal trainers.

Hannum earned a bachelor’s degree in movement science with a concentration in exercise science from Westfield State University. He holds certifications from Mike Boyle’s Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC), the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

A lifelong advocate for health and fitness, he I also a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Exercise is Medicine initiative.

Hannum has presented published research at the ACSM national conference and completed a 450-hour internship at Conca Sport and Fitness, where he taught youth, high school and college athletes and adults in both individual and group sessions.

Before joining RecWell, Hannum served as the manager and head trainer at F45 Training Hampshire Meadows.
