UMass Amherst Libraries Unveil ‘Making a World of Difference: Stories about Global Health’ Fall 2023 Exhibit at the Science and Engineering Library
The UMass Amherst Libraries will present “Making a World of Difference: Stories about Global Health,” in the Science and Engineering Library, Lederle Lowrise, through Jan. 6, 2024. A reception for the exhibit will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 3-5 p.m., in the Science and Engineering Library Learning Studio.
The first part of the exhibit, which runs through Oct. 7, features a traveling exhibit presented by National Library of Medicine and guest curated by Ashley Bowen, a public historian, educator and editor of Perspectives on History. The exhibition and companion website tell stories of people who work on a wide range of issues—from community health to conflict, disease to discrimination—to improve health in their areas and beyond. The project features stories from around the world of communities—in collaboration with scientists, activists, governments and international organizations—that are taking up the challenge to prevent disease and improve quality of life.
Although the traveling exhibit ends Oct 7, the work of UMass Amherst researchers in Global Health will continue to be displayed through Jan. 6, 2024.
