The award, named for former NETA president Ilse Andrews, was presented in the spring at the NETA annual conference in Boston, recognizes one member who has performed outstanding volunteer service for the association.
“It’s an honor to receive this award. There are so many dedicated members of NETA who are excellent language professionals,” Galasso says. “I especially enjoy working with the conference committee exchanging ideas about conference speakers and topics of interest. NETA is a place where practicing professionals, scholars, educators, students and anyone interested in translation can come together to see how certain topics shape our work. I’m really moved by this award and look forward to continuing to work together.”
