UNESCO launches webinar series for the World Network of Biosphere Reserves in times of COVID19 pandemic

The MAB Programme is organising a series of webinars to connect and support the WNBR in the co-creation of a narrative on the network’s role and solutions for the implementation of the Agenda 2030 in connection with the on-going crisis

Starting on June 9, UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme will host a webinar series for representatives of the World Network of Biosphere Reserve, in response to the COVID19 crisis that hit the entire planet since the beginning of March this year.

The impact of the pandemic has been particularly felt on business and communities that rely on tourism. Thus, the webinars will focus on designing promotion initiatives that reflect the MAB Global Communication Strategy devised in 2018. Alongside the release of a series of practical e-books, the MAB Programme aims to support the network in communicating a powerful message.

Each session tailored to the needs of communicating the biosphere reserve

The series of monthly one-hour webinars in English, Spanish, and French will provide guidance on key areas of engagement, for instance, engaging key stakeholders through your communications, as well as practical tools and approaches to support biosphere reserve to underpin the resilience of their stakeholders. The content has been designed with inputs from the World Network.

The first webinar will focus on Communication, followed by sessions on Tourism (June), Youth (July) and Business (August).
