UNESCO/Netexplo Forum 2021 to showcase innovation and urban connectivity

UNESCO Netexplo will host their annual event online on 14 and 15 April. The first day will feature innovations relating to the theme of The New Now, while the second will be dedicated to the Linking Cities forum.

The UNESCO/Netexplo Innovation Forum (14 April, 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, CET) will present the latest global trends in digital innovation, showcasing ten breakthroughs with a discussion by experts on their potential impact. Participants will vote online for the 2021 Grand Prix award to be selected from among the ten projects presented on the theme of The New Now.

The UNESCO/Netexplo Linking Cities Forum (15 April, 9 am to 5.55 pm, CET) will share some of the best innovation practices implemented by cities around the world to meet their citizens’ most urgent needs. During the event, the organizers will present the 2021 Netexplo Linking Cities awards covering different domains, from safety to funding models, infrastructure and attractiveness.

UNESCO has been hosting these annual fora since 2011, the year of Netexplo’s creation as a global observatory of digital innovation and talent. It identifies issues and skills needed to foster a fairer, more open world that creates more value and wellbeing for women and men. Its objectives are in line with UNESCO’s mission to promote and support international cooperation in education, science, culture and communication and information. UNESCO has been hosting the annual Netexplo Fora since 2011.
