UNESCO strengthens capacities of personnel of museums in Central America

The UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean, based in Havana, in collaboration with the UNESCO Cluster Office in San José and the UNESCO Office in Guatemala, organize the virtual seminar “Introduction to Museology-2021”. The course is held in the framework of the promotion of the 2015 Recommendation concerning the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, their Diversity and their Role in Society and following the recommendations of the UNESCO reports on Museums Around the World in the Face of COVID-19 of 2020 and 2021.

The seminar will be conducted by Cecilia Santinelli, recognized expert in the management of cultural heritage and museums, and professor Andrea Papi, with a long career as an expert in museology and conservation. Saadia Sánchez-Vegas, Director and Representative of the UNESCO Cluster Office for the Caribbean in Kingston and Officer in charge of the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Havana, will deliver the opening remarks of the event.
