Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the credibility and acceptability of Ayurveda products have grown globally. He was speaking after visiting the National Institute of Naturopathy in Pune today.
The Minister said, the size of the AYUSH product market until 2014 was only three billion dollars. Now the AYUSH product market has reached the scale of 18.2 billion dollars, he added.
Mr. Sonowal expressed confidence that AYUSH will also pave the way for further development of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. This journey of growth of AYUSH products will continue even in the future, said the Minister.
Mr. Sonowal said, our ancient medical knowledge is more than five thousand years old and people should be made aware of that. He added, it is really commendable the way AYUSH has given service to the masses through its various streams, namely, Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
After visiting various departments at the institute, the Minister took an overview of the working of the organisation and interacted with some of the patients who had come there for the treatment.
