Union Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari lays Vision for Integrated Holistic Planning of Infrastructure, says logistic costs will be brought down

Kozhikode: India’s top B-School IIM Kozhikode hosted a special guest to inaugurate its first management development programme on ‘Infrastructure Develoment’ being held at its Campus here in Kozhikode. Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, (MoRTH), gave the inaugural address for this week-long programme brainstorming on the importance of the Infrastructure Sector in the Indian Economy & the Financing Challenge. IIM Kozhikode Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Prof. Mridul Saggar – Head Uruppika (IIMK Centre of Excellence), faculty members joined the Hon’ble Minister with 40 senior and mid-level Government officials in this first-of-a-kind programme on infrastructure financing.

Shri Nitin Gadkari, congratulated IIM Kozhikode for breaking into the Top-3 B-Schools of the country in the latest NIRF Rankings. He appreciated IIMK Kozhikode for taking this initiative to forge together an academic and industrial collaboration to respond to capacity building challenges through such customized Management Development Programmes. Adding further he said, “Infrastructure development will play a significant role in fulfilling our vision to make India a superpower economy and developed nation in near future.”

Earlier, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, welcomed the Hon’ble Minister (MoRTH), to this programme. He credited Shri Gadkari for “Creation of quality infrastructure with benevolence and social good with an ESG touch, true to the Indian tradition. The revolution of roadways brought in by MoRTH by giving the country Gati Shakti has put India on the path to become world’s largest economy. Several sustainable infrastructure initiatives like Green Highway, supporting alternative fuels like – ethanol, methanol, green hydrogen, EV Charging infrastructure are amazing initiatives of carrying the same Indian traditions in a modern times – will help globalize Indian Thought.” He shared IIM Kozhikode’s commitment of “Being best not just in the world, but best for the world” and play a pivotal role by partnering government of India “in knowledge and human capital creation for India to achieve its Vision 2047, that of a developed and leading economy of the world.”
