Union Minister G Kishan Reddy unveils the Poster of Hybiz.tv Tea Championships 2023

Hyderabad: The nominations for the second edition of Hybiz.tv Tea Championships-2023 for women was declared open by the Union Minister of Tourism Shri G. Kishan Reddy here on Sunday at his residence. He has unveiled the poster of the event in the presence of Hybiz. Tv Managing Director Shri M Rajgopal and CEO Mrs. J.Sandhya Rani and other team members.
The event, approved by the Tea Board of India, will be held on 26 March 2023 at the HICC, Hyderabad. The winner will receive Rs 1 lakh, the second prize will be Rs 50,000, the third prize will be Rs 25,000 each, and five runner-ups will receive Rs 10,000 each.
Declaring the nominations for the novel Tea Championship open the minister said “I am happy to be a part of the championships and believe that the event will add to many tourist attractions of the city that has a tradition of drinking one of the finest Teas in the country”. He has assured all support to the event.
Managing Director M Rajgopal added “This year there will be no entry fee for the championships to facilitate many more women from all walks of life to take part in the tea-making competition. This will bring out the innate talent of the women who limit their skills to the household,” he said.
The 2nd Edition
In a country where drinking Tea is a favourite pass time, the Hybiz.tv thought of awarding the best tea makers. In a novel and first-of-its-kind initiative India’s most-watched online Business Channel with over One Million regular viewers has successfully organised the 1st edition of Telangana Tea Championships on 6th March 2022, at HICC Hyderabad.
Hundreds of women in Hyderabad took the challenge of preparing Tea, while 7000 women registered, 108 finalists took the “Tea” test at the venue. The participants made a wide variety of Teas, that included Pink to Special Masala Tea. As the Tea championships were a precursor to International Women’s Day, the competition was limited to women only.
In all, the best five tea makers were selected by the specialist Jury members. The first prize winner received a cheque for Rs 1 lakh, whereas the second prize of Rs 50,000, and the three runners-up were presented with Rs 25,000 each. The last for entry into the championship is 20th March 2023.
Broader Participation
The event through the Hybiz.tv digital initiatives, media coverage, and social media handles have reached the nooks and corners of the Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The reach was so wide that many contestants from far-flung northern coastal districts took part in the event.
