Union Sports Secretary Julaniya lauds arrangements of Shooting Academy

Bhopal : The Union Sports Secretary Shri Radheshyam Julaniya said that Madhya Pradesh will be made National Centre of Excellence for the Olympics 2028, with the cooperation of the State Government. He expected the academy players to win at least four medals for the country in the Olympics-2024. Shri Julania said this while inspecting the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy today. He took stock of the arrangements made for the sportspersons participating in the national shooting competition at the academy and also observed the performance of the sportspersons.

Shri Radheshyam Julania inspected the arrangements and discussed with the officials at SAI. Director Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. S.L. Thausen, Regional Director of Sports Authority of India (SAI) Shri Ajit Singh, Joint General Secretary N.R.A.I. Shri Pawan Singh and Chief Coach-Shooting Shri Mansher Singh were present on the occasion.

The Union Sports Secretary inspected the 10 meter, 25 meter and 50 meter shooting range. He visited the Trap and Skeet range and observed the performance of the players. He also held discussions with the officers and coaches in connection to the players and their performances. Shri Julaniya inspected the administrative building and took stock of the arrangements made for the players and officials. Appreciating the quality of works of the shooting range, he directed the Joint Secretary of N.R.A.I. Shri Pawan Singh to make efforts for holding all National Shooting Competitions in this academy. He said that every possible help will be provided by the Centre to Madhya Pradesh for the development of sports.

The Sports Director Dr. Thausen informed that a sports personal development programme is being prepared with an objective to make the players self-dependent. Under this programme, skill training as per the interest of the players will be given to make them self-dependent. He further mentioned that players will be imparted training in the field of coaching, sports journalism, sports physiotherapy, sports commentator, umpire, referee, sports photographer, computer operator, modeling, sports gym trainer etc.
