Universal Business School organises HR Symposium in New Delhi
The HR symposium held panel discussions on ‘Empowering HR for Business Growth’ & ‘Hybrid Team Management’
Over 60 attendees and speakers from all-over the country attended the event, featuring prominent names like Bajaj Capital, Macawber Beekay, Yamaha Motors, HCL Healthcare and L&T
Mumbai’s Universal Business School- India’s first green business school, endorsed by 60 CEO’s, hosted a national level HR Symposium on 9th September 2022 at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on the theme ‘The HR of Tomorrow’.
The symposium provided an opportunity for students and industry delegates to gain valuable insights from senior HR experts on tomorrow’s trends which are likely to impact the HR world.
It started with Prof. Sriram, COO, Universal Business school addressing the HR fraternity and making a presentation to them on Universal Business School’s recent achievements.
Ashish Gakrey, Founder of HR Shapers was the moderator and asked the most relevant and trending questions to the panellists.
Nitin Ambardar, AVP HR, Bajaj Capital said that the entire shift of the organisations has turned to cost during work from home. “Budget cost was the centre and there were salary cuts even in the companies which were cost rich,” he said. Urooj Fatma, Head HR – Macawber Beekay pointed to the importance of bond between the employee and the employer and explained how Macawber Beekay brought that kind of trust across multiple locations. Vir Bharat, Head HR- Yamaha Motors said that along with physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing is also important. “We never thought that person can work virtually for us but covid has made us learn that,” said Bharat.
As per Neeti Kumar, VP HR Adda247, culture plays the most important part in any organisation. “Good culture means happy employees.”
Sharmila Thakur, HR Head, Bureau VERITAS mentioned that now organisations realise how tough it is to take care of an organisation and what kind of role the HR team plays to carry out their duties effectively.
Digwanta Chakraborty, Head HR Trinity Life Sciences posed an important question: is the hybrid model increasing revenue? “As an organisation one should ask their employees if they need a work from home setting and understand what challenges they face while working remotely,” he said.
Sudeep Sharma, Head HR HCL Healthcare said that moon lightning is happening because we have not yet found the solution to that.
Juhi Sharma, Director HR & TA (APAC) gave an advice of creating 3 polls and asking the employees- who all would like to come to office, who all want to work from home and who all want a hybrid office and based on that decide how to undertake day to day work from employees.
Kashish Kapoor, Head HR- NEC Corporation India stated that going back to normal office scenario any time soon is highly unlikely. She spoke about how the talent demand is more than the supply at this point in time. Manish Gour, GM, Head HR & OE L&T explained to the audience that as manufacturing can’t happen from home (remotely), so what all measures they took to make the employees feel safe during covid times.
The panel discussions were extremely interactive as the panellists enthusiastically answered the various questions asked to them by the HR personnel in the audience.
