University extension lecture held on Arts and Science of Academic Spinouts

ALIGARH  : Prof Suphiya Khan, Deputy Director, Shriram Institute for Industrial Research, Gurugram, Haryana delivered a University extension lecture on “Arts and Science of Academic Spinouts: A Journey from Water Research Lab to Drumlins Water Technologies Pvt Ltd”, which was organized by the Department of Botany as part of its centenary celebrations.

Prof Khan introduced the academic spinouts and their significance in translating research into practical applications. She highlighted the innovative research conducted at the Water Research Lab in the field of water technology, and the core technological innovation of Drumlins Water Technologies.  The water purification or conservation technology was explored with its market potential and societal impact.

The lecture provided insights into how academic research can be translated into real-world solutions through entrepreneurship.

Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, Prof M. Badruzzaman Siddiqui, Chairperson, Department of Botany, introduced the speaker.

Prof. Nisar A. Khan, Coordinator, University Extension Lecture, discussed the scope and challenges of academia in translating discoveries into applications.
