The University Grants Commission and National Law University Delhi successfully organized a Colloquium on “New Criminal Laws: A Vision for Justice and Rule of Law.”

The inaugural session was graced by legal luminaries – Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Vice Chairperson, UGC, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) D. Surya Prakasa Rao, Vice Chancellor, DSNLU, Visakhapatnam and Ms. Chaya Sharma, Spl. Commissioner (Trg.), Delhi Police.
Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Bajpai, Convenor of the Committee for drafting the three criminal laws discussed the drafting and he highlighted the salient features of the three new laws and the role they will play in the administration of justice for the Indian masses.
The panellists discussed the future of criminal justice and the rule of law, shedding light on critical pathways for the development of legal frameworks in ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law.
The event featured three insightful panel discussions on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. We thank all our esteemed panellists and participants for making this event a great success.
The event was attended by more than 400 participants, which included practitioners, academicians and students from various disciplines.
