University of Adelaide Excels in Subject Rankings
The University of Adelaide has retained its position among the world’s top universities, with the release of the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject.
14 University of Adelaide subjects were rated in the global top 100 – a huge achievement for the University, reflecting its position as one of the best performing education institutions nationally and globally.
“The University of Adelaide has been leading the way for 150 years and continues to do so, delivering excellence and impact everyday through our research, teaching, and innovations,” said Professor Peter Høj AC, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide.
“This latest accolade is another significant achievement for the University and demonstrates our passion for teaching the next generation of leaders in subjects that will play a key role now and in the future.”
The reputation and research output of almost five thousand universities around the world were analysed across 55 specific subject areas and five broad subject areas to form the ranking.
The latest QS World University Rankings by Subject see the University of Adelaide listed in the global top 100 for the following areas:
- Agriculture and Forestry
- Anatomy
- Archaeology
- Classics
- Dentistry
- Earth Sciences
- Environmental science
- Geology
- Geophysics
- Mining Engineering
- Nursing
- Petroleum Engineering
- Philosophy
- Veterinary Science
Professor Høj said he was particularly pleased with the diversity of the University’s outstanding subjects, with Archaeology a new addition to the top 100 for the University this year. Life Sciences and Medicine was the strongest subject field.
The University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Anton Middelberg added: “These latest rankings are a testament to the outstanding talent and commitment of our academics. They reflect our key strengths in the areas of learning and research and show the depth of our expertise across a range of fields.”
