University of Adelaide Reaffirms Health and AI Cooperation with New MoU
The University of Adelaide and Aurecon Group have marked a significant milestone in their relationship, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Aurecon Chief Executive Officer William Cox, University of Adelaide Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj AC and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Professor Jessica Gallagher formalised the commitment of the past two years at a meeting held at the University’s North Terrace campus on Tuesday, 4 June.
The MoU will allow both parties to share resources and expertise to pursue cooperative activities in the future of health and artificial intelligence, as well as climate change, sustainability and resilience and defence.
“The University of Adelaide and Aurecon are strongly aligned in our core values and dedication to innovation,” said Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), Professor Jessica Gallagher, University of Adelaide.
“This shared commitment ensures that our projects are not only technically excellent but also socially responsible.
“Together, we have initiated and completed various projects ranging from scholarships and research endeavours to sharing expertise and resources.”

Mr Cox said Aurecon, an international design, engineering and advisory company, welcomed the opportunity to formalise the partnership with the University in its 150th year.
“Aurecon and the University of Adelaide have been working together for many years,” said Mr Cox.
“We are excited that our two organisations have now formalised that relationship around a shared commitment to create better opportunities for our people and the planet.
“Having our futures intertwined enables us to bring together our people, research and data to co-create solutions that enhance sustainability and improve health outcomes.”
Aurecon engineers were contracted during the construction of the Adelaide Health & Medical Sciences Building on North Terrace, the largest capital works project in the University’s history, before beginning to offer internships to undergraduate students in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical/Process, Civil) and Project Management in 2020.
