University of Bremen: A milestone in logistics research in Bremen

25th birthday: By founding an association for logistics research in 1996, the university set an example not only in science. In the meantime it has grown into the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics(LogDynamics). It is celebrated with a series of lectures.
It’s an anniversary year: The University of Bremen is celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Bremen ports introduced the first container 55 years ago, and the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics (Log Dynamics ) has been successfully conducting logistics research in Bremen for 25 years – as a driving force with an effect far beyond Bremen’s borders. A gain for the logistics industry, which is strong and so important in the country.
The interdisciplinary cooperation within the University of Bremen and with external partners such as the BIBA – Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics, the Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) and the Jacobs University Bremen has become an integral part of the research and transfer landscape in the state of Bremen . It is highly valued by business and science both locally, nationally and internationally.
For 15 years with an international doctoral program
The International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics (IGS), founded 15 years ago as a pillar of Log Dynamics with its structured training for doctoral students, is also a success . 50 young people from 24 countries around the world have since graduated with a doctorate. Even as alumni associated with the University of Bremen and Log Dynamics, you continue to maintain your diverse Bremen contacts in your professional life in business and science around the globe.
Lecture series starts on May 5th
Depending on the current situation, Log Dynamics’ birthday will be celebrated with several virtual activities and offers. First the lecture series “Dynamics in Logistics – 25 Years of Logistics Research in Bremen”. In addition, there will be virtual demonstrations in the Log Dynamics Lab over the next few months, among other things as part of the Open Campus of the University of Bremen, as well as the possibility of intercultural encounters with international doctoral students at IGS. A book publication is also in preparation.
