University of Bremen: Foundations as a source of inspiration: Day of action on October 1st

Foundations are committed to our society in a variety of ways. And there are more every year. Private financial wealth is growing, and donation offers a good chance to make a difference. However, many are not yet aware of this possibility. How diverse the foundation landscape is, what motivates the founders, what foundations do, what they achieve through their commitment and what contribution they make to society: this will be evident on the Europe-wide day of action around October 1, 2021. Various aspects will be highlighted
in workshops and a panel event on Friday, October 1, 2021 in the House of Science in Bremen.

In the mornings , those interested in the foundation have the opportunity from 11 a.m. to find out more about the practice and future of the foundation in three workshops.
1. (In) inherit, endow, donate – what good can I do with my money?
2.
Foundations for the future: formats for promoting science 3. From the practice of the foundation supervisory authority

In the afternoon there will be a panel discussion with Senator for Science Dr. Claudia Schilling:
From 4 p.m., the Leibniz Prize winner and co-author of the current report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Prof. Veronika Eyring, will discuss with Dr. Udo Ernst (University of Bremen), Dr. Rita Kellner-Stoll (Kellner & Stoll – Foundation for Climate and Environment), Senator Dr. Claudia Schilling (Science and Ports), Fenja Meyer (Germany Scholarship holder) and Alexander Witte (Wolfgang Ritter Foundation).
