University of Bremen: University of Bremen successful in global ranking

The ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has now published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2022 (Shanghai Ranking ). In marine sciences, it ranks first in Germany. In a global comparison, it took 15th place. The University of Bremen also leads the table of German universities in geosciences. Globally, she ranks 31st out of 500 in the subject.
“This is once again confirmation of the excellent research work that is carried out at our university in marine and environmental research, which is also highly relevant to questions of climate change. I am very happy about the good placement,” said Professor Bernd Scholz-Reiter, Rector of the University of Bremen.
The ShanghaiRanking is an international ranking published by the Global Ranking of academic subjects (GRAS) since 2017 . It contains rankings in 54 subjects from the natural sciences, engineering sciences, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. A total of more than 4000 universities were ranked. The GRAS ranking 2022 evaluates research publications from the years 2016 to 2020.
