University of Bremen’s Rector Named New Trustee for Hamburg Academy of Sciences

The Rector of the University of Bremen, Professor Jutta Günther, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg. The Academy of Sciences in Hamburg brings together top researchers from all areas of science in northern Germany.

“I am delighted about the appointment and the trust that has been placed in me, as well as looking forward to the exciting work we will do together in the Board of Trustees!” said Rector Günther. The Board of Trustees currently consists of six members; the chairwoman is Katharina Fegebank, Hamburg’s Second Mayor and President of the Department of Science, Research, Equality and Districts. It advises the Executive Board in the performance of its duties and monitors its management. The members of the Board of Trustees are appointed for three years.

The climate researcher Mojib Latif is the president of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg. The Academy brings together top researchers from all areas of science in northern Germany and is also an important source of inspiration for society. The Academy has up to 80 full members and additional released full members, honorary members and corresponding members from Germany and abroad.
