The experience of Ural Federal University in the field of youth policy is actively used in training relevant specialists for Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, the work in this direction can be strengthened in the near future. These are the preliminary results of negotiations of the university delegation with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov.

During the negotiations the parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of youth policy. In particular, Aleksandr Ponomarev, the head of the Department of Youth Outreach, presented educational opportunities of the Ural Federal University. At the meeting, it was also discussed an opportunity to sign a memorandum of cooperation, a contract on internships for undergraduates and the possibility of sending specialists in the field of state youth policy to study at the Ural Federal University Graduate School. Besides, perspective themes of master’s theses were discussed. The meeting was also attended by Sagynbek Abdrakhmanov, chairman of the Kyrgyz Alumni Association, and Nursultan Akmatov, a master’s student from Kyrgyzstan.

“It was a very constructive meeting. We agreed on internships for our master’s students, signing a memorandum, holding events in July during the internship, and invited them to our April conference. Of course, we invited employees of the ministry, who supervise youth policy, to enroll in the master’s program,” Aleksandr Ponomarev stated.

Alexander Ponomarev added that four students from Kyrgyzstan study at the Department of Youth Outreach in the master’s program. They conduct research on very relevant topics: the potential of non-profit organisations in the professional orientation of young people of the Kyrgyz Republic, the development of youth entrepreneurship, technologies to support talented young people, as well as the socio-political activity of young people of Kyrgyzstan.

“UrFU is about the only university in Russia that has a specialized department that educates specialists in working with youth. Our university has been offering training in the field of youth policy since 2005, and a separate Department of Youth Outreach has existed since 2008, so our professors have tremendous experience in training specialists in this field. I am sure that our competences in this sphere will be more and more actively used in Kyrgyzstan year by year, as our partners have shown the corresponding interest,” concluded Ponomarev.
