University of East Anglia (UEA) launches updated MSc in Business Analytics and Management course to empower future leaders in data- decisions

New Delhi : University of East Anglia, one of the UK’s top 25 universities, is proud to announce the new and improved MSc in Business Analytics and Management.

The new course, managed by world-leading experts in Norwich Business School, UEA combines four options in semester three, so that students can now choose to prepare a business plan, write a dissertation, undertake a work placement or get involved in a work-based project, sponsored by a UK business. With a strong emphasis on practical or academic application, this programme now ensures students feel better prepared for their next job role or for further academic study, such as a PhD.

When students choose the business plan module in semester three, they will hone their skills in order to develop a sustainable business plan for their start-up idea, as well as having an opportunity to pitch to a board of investors; similar to real life for start-up funding. Pulling together the subject specific skills and learning from the other modules covering marketing, planning, budgeting, finance and legal aspects, students will now focus on the opportunity their business offers to its target audience, be it an investor, a partner or new staff.

Alternatively, the dissertation optional module in semester three offers students the chance to develop independent research skills on the subject of their choice. Combining the knowledge acquired from the individual taught modules, students can develop their theoretical knowledge one step further by embedding the necessary skill set to probe a research problem in-depth and come out with contributions that are an original contribution to knowledge in the business management literature.

Given the competitive nature of post-Masters job roles, standing out is essential and therefore the placement option will provide students with their first chance to apply in practice the knowledge acquired, and skills developed during the first two terms of their course. It goes beyond the taught modules in their MSc programme introducing them to the day-to-day work of professionals in the discipline(s) of their choice and providing them with practical experience of working as one. There is no better way for students to enhance their CV, ensuring they are energised and ready to move forward on their career pathway.

The organisation-sponsored project module will provide students with an amazing option to undertake a project that aims at addressing an issue identified by an organisation, and to work with that business to add value by resolving it. This will help to embed theoretical concepts and ideas in a real-world practical scenario, designed to enhance applications for post-MSc job roles and to enrich their experiences. This is because at Norwich Business School, UEA it is all about investing in our student’s futures – ensuring they have the choice and flexibility to craft their MSc Business Analytics and Management course to enhance their career development and enable those next steps into the job of their dreams.

The MSc Business Analytics and Management stands out for its strong focus on experiential learning, providing students with invaluable practical opportunities. Through collaborative projects or extended research students can apply their knowledge and skills to real-world business scenarios, gaining hands-on experience in utilising data for strategic decision-making. This emphasis on practical application coupled with a cutting-edge curriculum blending theory and practicality, equips students with the skills and insights needed to excel in the data-driven world of business analytics and management.

Upon completion of the MSc in Business Analytics and Management, graduates will unlock a world of career opportunities across various business sectors, spanning public and private, sectors, in areas such as corporate data management, consultancy, entrepreneurial ventures, digital marketing and information/data management roles.
