We are delighted to be nominated in the category of outstanding contribution to sustainability leadership. The award recognises our work with Siemens to tackle energy use and decarbonisation to meet our 2030 Net Zero goal, and a shared drive to diversify the early talent pipeline for jobs in the green economy.
It is great to be recognised for our leading work in space where we are connecting students with world-leading experts in sustainability and giving them the tools to safeguard their planet and progress their careers.
The partnership between the University and Siemens aims to set a global precedent for urban universities. Key aspects of the project include implementing energy-efficient measures, replacing LED lighting and system replacements, installing solar PV panels and EV chargers, and removing gas boilers, showcasing UEL’s commitment to technological advances aligned with our sustainability goals.
