University of Glasgow Continues Strong Performance in 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject
The University maintained a strong performance in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject, released today (10 April 2024)
QS Rankings by Subject assess the University’s performance across five academic areas and 43 individual subject areas.
In the 2024 results, the University improved in two out of five subject areas, with Engineering & Technology and Social Sciences & Management rising 21 places and eight places, respectively. In Life Sciences & Medicine, the University of Glasgow maintained its position in the world top 50 universities.
We also ranked in the top 100 worldwide in 23 out of the 43 subject areas that we were judged on.

In the 2024 QS World University Rankings (released in June 2023), the University rose five places to joint 76th out of 1,503 institutions.
This result means the University of Glasgow is now ranked among the top 5% of institutions globally.
