University of Glasgow Members Honored in King’s Birthday Honours

Members of the University of Glasgow community have been recognised in the King’s 2024 Birthday Honours List.

Those honoured include Rachel Sandison, Deputy Vice Chancellor – External Engagement and Vice Principal – External Relations, who was awarded an OBE for services to Higher Education.

Several University alumni have also been recognised, including:

 

Rabinder Buttar OBE Senior Enterprise Fellow, Strathclyde University. For services to Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership in Business, and to Life Sciences (Stirling, Stirling and Falkirk)
Kristine Ann Cooper CBE Lately General Counsel and Company Secretary, Aviva. For services to Business and to the Dormant Assets Scheme
Maureen Ferrie MBE Services to People Living With a Disability in Glasgow
Julie Christine Humphreys OBE Deputy Director, Scottish Government. For services to Tackling Child Poverty in Scotland (Dunblane, Stirling and Falkirk)
Armando Iannucci CBE Services to Film and Television
Thomas Kelly OBE lately UK Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies in Rome, Italy. For services to International Development.
John David McKeown OBE Veterinary Surgeon. For services to the Veterinary Profession (Coleraine, County Antrim)
Laura Agnes Milby MBE Lately Lanarkshire Clinical Director, General Dental Services. For services to Dentistry (Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire)
Glenn McIntosh Munro MBE Founder, Moray Concert Brass. For services to Music (Elgin, Moray)
Antoinette Parr MBE Services to NHS Scotland, to the Scout Movement and to St Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Coatbridge and the Motherwell Diocese.
