Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said: “This is fantastic news for the University and further evidence of the strength of our reputation within the sector, which has seen us rise in national and world league tables and named as the current Times Higher Education University of the Year.

“While the University is about far more than league tables, it is important that we take the opportunity to recognise and reflect on results such as this, which are testament to the hard work and dedication of so many colleagues.

“These successes do not happen on their own, and I would like to thank our community, particularly over such a challenging year, to ensure the University continues to deliver outstanding research and teaching, and a world-leading student experience.”
