University of Greenwich and The Albany Forge Partnership to Enhance Arts in South East London

The Albany arts centre exists to inspire, develop and support creativity for the benefit of the community. The partnership has been developed through the strong relationships with the university’s School of Stage and Screen.

University of Greenwich students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a range of roles through work placements and internships. It is a fantastic opportunity for staff and students to network with the creative industry and form important connections to help bring young talent to the sector.

David Hockham, Associate Head of School at the University of Greenwich said:

‘Developing our links with the Albany further connects the School of Stage and Screen to the local creative industries, creating opportunities for our students from across the school. Our students studying degrees in Drama, Music and Sound will be able to take advantage of placement opportunities at the Albany as well as secure paid work alongside their degree programme in one of South East London’s thriving theatre spaces.’

Ben Stephen, Technical & Operations Director at the Albany said:

‘The partnership with University of Greenwich furthers the Albany’s deep connections with South East London, where we provide a home for ideas, creativity and action. Aligning with the University of Greenwich’s strategies to drive social mobility and graduate outcomes, we are delighted to partner with the School of Stage and Screen to support the next generation of creative graduates.’
