Professor Chris Pallant is currently the Director for Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, a role he has held since 2018. He has worked in Higher Education since 2006 across three universities and has held several course director roles in that time.

Professor Pallant’s research is primarily concerned with animation and creative production cultures. His 2017 book Animated Landscapes: History, Form, and Function (Bloomsbury) was awarded the ‘Norman McLaren/Evelyn Lambart Award for Best Scholarly Book in Animation’ by the international Society for Animation Studies.

Speaking about his appointment, Professor Pallant said:

“I am delighted and privileged to have the chance to work with colleagues both in the School of Design and across the university. The School of Design has a strong track record of being a force for good both locally and on the international stage, and I look forward to continuing to enhance this established excellence, whilst supporting colleagues to further develop our positive impact in the arenas of education, research, and enterprise.”

Professor Pallant will take up his post in January 2024.
