University of Helsinki: 10 University of Helsinki researchers among the world’s most highly cited researchers in 2021

10 University of Helsinki researchers have been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers 2021 list. 7 of them carry out research primarily at the University, while 3 have their primary affiliation elsewhere.

The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

Web of Science indexing and search service covers peer-reviewed published research articles especially in the natural sciences and medicine. Due to this, scholars of the humanities and education, among others, are not included on the list.
