Both the University of Helsinki and Aalto fell slightly in the ranking from the previous year, with the former dropping two places and the latter four. In total, the ranking includes 1,418 universities. The slight decline, which also applies to other Finnish higher education institutions, comes particularly down to the teacher–student ratio.
