Selected teams and individuals will benefit from 7 weeks of dedicated university support starting May 6th with workshops led by both internal university experts and visiting professionals, personalised guidance from hand-picked experts, and thought-provoking talks from inspiring speakers. At the programme’s final on June 16th, participants will present their solutions to a panel of industry judges, receiving valuable feedback and recommendations on how to continue their journey.
One option participants will be presented at the end of the programme will be to continue onwards to the Helsinki Incubator Programme’s Deep Tech, AI, and Sustainability Incubator starting in September 2022. The incubator will offer selected teams 6-12 months of dedicated, tailored guidance, mentoring, and support to help them fully immerse themselves in creating a start-up around their solution.
– We are excited to see what kinds of ideas people apply to our programme with. We are confident that this programme and all others under the Helsinki Incubator Programmes label will be the beginning of something great for not only the University of Helsinki, but for the world, affirms Senior Manager in charge of Innovation & Startup-Corporate Partnerships Alfonso Gutierrez.
About Helsinki Incubator Programmes
The Kumpula-based programme is the first in a series of incubators and pre-incubators organised by the University of Helsinki’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Services Team and relevant faculties in collaboration with the Helsinki Think Company, Helsinki Innovation Services, and the City of Helsinki under the Helsinki Incubator Programmes label. With these programmes, the University hopes to encourage all of its stakeholders to take the expertise and passions that unite them to create impactful entrepreneurial initiatives.
The Helsinki Incubator Programmes are part of the City of Helsinki’s broader Campus Incubators project, which is funding incubators at universities and universities of applied science across the capital region. The University of Helsinki’s activities in this project will include around a dozen thematic programmes spread out between the University’s campuses each year. And while programmes will be located at the most thematically appropriate campus, all interested parties are encouraged to apply, regardless of their own affiliations.
