University of Mannheim: CHE ranking: Offers at the beginning of your studies and for digital teaching at the University of Mannheim are excellent
The University of Mannheim is again successful in the current ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE): With the subject of psychology, it is in the top group and thus confirms the extraordinarily high quality of its studies. The other two subjects assessed – German and Romance Studies – also do very well. In recent years, the University of Mannheim has regularly achieved top positions in the evaluation of the CHE ranking, also in the other departments of business administration, economics, political science and law offered in Mannheim.
Psychology: Nationwide top position maintained
In the field of psychology, the University of Mannheim confirms its position as one of the best training locations in Germany. Purely in terms of points, it again achieved the best rating of all universities: It is in the top group in all 18 ranked categories. No other university received the best rating in so many individual criteria. Mannheim’s psychology received top marks for the “general study situation”, “supervision by teachers”, “degrees in a reasonable time” and for the “offers for career orientation”. The University of Mannheim is also in the top group for the “overall result of support at the beginning of the course” and the “digital teaching elements”.
Humanities: Excellent introductory support
The humanities at the University of Mannheim also did very well in the most recent update of the CHE ranking. The bachelor’s and master’s degree programs “Culture and Economics” in Romance and German Studies, the bachelor’s degree programs “German Studies: Language, Literature and Media” and “Romance Languages, Literatures and Media” as well as the master’s degree program “Intercultural German Studies” were analyzed. Overall, the courses of study at the Philosophical Faculty are particularly convincing in the evaluation of the central category “Study organization” and the offers in the introductory phase.
In German studies , the University of Mannheim received 12 out of a possible 14 points in the special evaluation “Overall result of support at the beginning of the course”. Here it shares second place with two other universities. It is also in the top group in five out of nine ranked categories (“Study support”, “Graduations in reasonable time (Bachelor)”, “Rooms”, “Study organization” and “Library equipment”).
With 12 out of a possible 14 points, the University of Mannheim is one of the five best rated universities in the special evaluation “Overall result support at the beginning of your studies” in the Department of Romance Studies . It is also in the top group in three out of a total of six ranked categories (“Relevance to Science”, “Rooms” and “IT Infrastructure”).
The CHE ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking in the German-speaking area. More than 300 universities and colleges in German-speaking countries are regularly examined by the Center for Higher Education Development. In addition to facts about studies, teaching, equipment and research, the ranking includes assessments by students of the study conditions at their university. A third of the subjects are re-examined every year.
