University of Mannheim expert honoured as “shaper of the world of work”
As part of the award ceremony for the “40 Leading HR Minds 2023”, the HR magazine Haufe honoured Professor Torsten Biemann, holder of Mannheim’s Chair of Human Resource Management and Leadership, as a “formative shaper of the working world” in the special category “Big Five”. Biemann has been included in the biennial list of leading HR minds five times since the awards were first presented. With his empirical research and evidence-based teaching in the field of human resource management and leadership, he has regularly convinced the jury of the trade magazine for more than a decade.
“I am pleased that my research results are perceived as practically relevant and help shape the working world of tomorrow,” explains Biemann. In the future, the HR professor would also like to accompany developments in human resource management with innovative research on the effect of new human resource practices such as AI-supported personnel selection procedures.
Every two years, the HR magazine Haufe selects 40 people as “leading HR minds”. This year, the “Big Five” category was published for the first time. This honours people who have already been included in the list at least five times.
