University of Massachusetts Amherst: Search Advisory Committee Named for Dean of the College of Natural Sciences
Tricia Serio, provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, has appointed a search advisory committee to aid in the selection of the next dean of the College of Natural Sciences.
Nathaniel Whitaker, department head in mathematics and statistics, is currently serving as the interim dean.
Serio has appointed Allison Vorderstrasse, dean of the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing, and Tilman Wolf, senior vice provost for academic affairs and associate chancellor for space and capital planning, as co-chairs of the search advisory committee.

Dwayne Breger, director of the Clean Energy Extension
Julie Brigham-Grette, professor, department of geosciences
Gerald Downes, associate professor, department of biology
Erin Flanagan, business manager, department of biochemistry and molecular biology
Audrey Gabriel, undergraduate student
Krishna Kumar, Gluckstern Professor, department of physics
Michael Lu Diaz, graduate student
Alejandro Morales Borrero, assistant professor, department of mathematics and statistics
Laurel Smith-Doerr, professor, department of sociology
Isaacson Miller has been retained as search consultants. The search is expected to conclude before the end of the academic year, with finalist interviews and forums taking place during the spring 2023 semester.
