University Of Massachusetts Amherst’s Senior Assistant Provost Chosen For 2023-24 NACUBO Emerging Leaders Program
Amy Stout, senior assistant provost for administration and finance, has been selected by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) to join its 2023-24 Emerging Leaders Program, a leadership development program for finance and business professionals from NACUBO-member colleges and universities.
Stout, who has served the university for the past 32 years, says she hopes to “enhance my executive leadership skills and learn from other business officers about new ideas that have been successful at their institutions with a focus on improving working relationships, business processes and outcomes here at UMass Amherst.”
“I’m delighted that Amy will have this opportunity to enhance her leadership skills and her career,” says Vice Provost for Administration and Finance Deborah Gould. “Amy has dedicated her professional life to UMass Amherst and has always looked for ways to think strategically as a means to create positive change. I know she will bring new ideas from the program to share with her UMass colleagues.”
Now in its third year, the Emerging Leaders Program, which runs September through April, will enroll more than 60 finance and business officers who were selected from a large group of applicants.
Looking ahead to the coming year, Stout shares that the program “seems like a perfect launch to re-engage with senior leaders here at UMass Amherst and to develop new professional relationships with colleagues beyond UMass to imagine what is possible for continued growth in my career.”
