University of Newcastle: Oceanex Energy Scholarship empowers student-led renewable energy research

A new scholarship delivered by Oceanex Energy will support University of Newcastle research into renewable energy options, and offshore wind farming specifically.

Geography and Environmental Studies (honours) student, Madeleine Novak, is the inaugural recipient of the Oceanex Energy Scholarship. The $10,000 scholarship will support Madeleine to pursue her Honours research project investigating attitudes towards offshore wind developments in Eastern Australia. Oceanex Energy also creates valuable opportunities to connect scholars with industry and offer them advice and experience.

Oceanex Energy will commit $30,000 scholarship funding over a three-year period. CEO of Oceanex Energy, Andy Evans said Newcastle is blessed to have such a well-recognised University renowned in many disciplines that can attract not only high-quality students and academics, but also industry that wants to work with the University of Newcastle.

The Oceanex Energy Scholarship is on offer to University of Newcastle students commencing or undertaking honours in the Discipline of Geography and Environmental Studies.
