University of Nottingham: AACSB accreditation completes ‘triple crown’ for Nottingham University Business School
Nottingham University Business School today joins the top one per cent of business schools in the world that hold ‘triple crown’ accreditation.
The school has earned accreditation from AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for all three of its locations in the UK, China and Malaysia, making it the only business school in the UK to hold triple accreditation for its operations on every campus.
The renowned ‘triple crown’ accreditation for business schools worldwide is made up of the three most influential accrediting organisations: AACSB in the United States, AMBA in the UK, and EQUIS in Europe. AACSB was the third and final accreditation that the University of Nottingham needed to complete its treble. Employers recognise the accolade as a mark of high standards, quality and reputation.
Professor Duncan Angwin, Dean of Nottingham University Business School UK, said: “I am delighted that Nottingham University Business School’s international quality is further recognised through this accreditation.”
AACSB’s accreditation of our three campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia, marks us out as one of an elite group of business schools that are triple accredited across multiple campuses. AACSB accreditation will enable the school to continue to evolve and improve in the future.
Professor Duncan Angwin, Dean of Nottingham University Business School UK
AACSB accreditation signifies a business school’s commitment to strategic management, learner success, thought leadership, and societal impact. The accreditation signals to students that the school takes seriously its commitment to high standards in teaching, learning and continuous improvement.
We are delighted with this further recognition of our position as a leading international business school in China. AACSB accreditation recognises the quality of Nottingham University Business School China, as well as the UK and Malaysia, and it will contribute to our growth and improvement in the future.
Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Nottingham University Business School China
For over a century, the ISO 9001:2015 certified AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education. Accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.
The accrediting process included both a self-evaluation report addressing AACSB standards, a peer-review process, and a rigorous external review of a school’s mission, degree programmes, teaching, curricula, resources, alumni relations and external engagement, and the calibre of its professional staff and faculty.
This is a fantastic achievement and one which we are extremely proud of. I am especially proud of our staff and students for continuing to shape the future of business school education and research. This accreditation is testament to their incredible efforts.
Dr Jason Pandya-Wood, Dean of Nottingham University Business School Malaysia
Nottingham University Business School was first awarded Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation in 1993 and has successfully been re-accredited by AMBA ever since. It achieved its most recent re-accreditation in 2020 for all Nottingham MBA programmes in the UK and Malaysia.
EQUIS accreditation (the EFMD Quality Improvement System) was first awarded to the school in 2010, for its UK, China and Malaysia business schools and was awarded renewal for the coveted maximum term of five years in 2021. EQUIS is granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
