University of Queensland has been ranked in the top 10 worldwide in three academic subjects

The University of Queensland has been ranked in the top 10 worldwide in three academic subjects with more than a dozen more in the top 50.

In the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022, UQ is eighth in the world for Hospitality and Tourism Management, and ninth in both Nursing and Biotechnology.

UQ performed strongly across a range of fields including Engineering, with 15 subjects ranked within the world’s top 100 and five in the top 25 including Mining and Mineral Engineering at 14.

Within Australia, UQ topped five subjects – Ecology, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Science and Technology.

The rankings assess the performance of world universities over 54 subject areas using a range of indicators and data including research output, influence and quality, international collaboration and awards.
