University of Reading Earns Top Marks for Sustainability in Times Good University Guide
The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 has placed the University of Reading at joint 34 in the UK.
The Guide, published online on 15 September 2023 and in The Times and Sunday Times, ranks 134 UK universities in total.
For the first time this year, the league table has included rankings from the People and Planet University League, which assesses the ethical and environmental performance of UK universities. Institutions have been rated out of five. With its fourth-place ranking in the People and Planet table, the University of Reading receives five out of five for its ‘eco rating’ for the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.
In the region, Reading ranks at number four out of 19 universities in South East of England.
A University of Reading spokesperson said: “We are pleased to see the University of Reading holding a consistent position in these latest university rankings. We are widely regarded not only in the UK but across the world for the high quality of our teaching and research, across a wide range of subject areas.
“League tables can be a helpful tool to prospective students deciding where to study, although it can be difficult to make comparisons. Every university is unique and has its own strengths. Our advice to those looking to decide where to study is always to do your own research, find out about open days, and pay a visit to the universities you like in person.”
